I AM HAPPY TO SHARE AN INTERESTING KNOWLEDGE WITH YOU:

Many years ago, during the time of the Taa'ibeen (Generation of Muslims after

the time of Sahaabah), Baghdad was a great city of Islam. Infact it was the capital of the Islam Empire and because of the great number of scholars who lived there, it was the Centre of the Islamic knowledge. One day, the ruler of Rome at that time sent an envoy to Baghdad with THREE CHALLENGES FOR THE MUSLIMS.

When the messenger arrived at the city, he informed the Khalifah that he had three

questions which he CHALLENGE Muslims to answer. The Khalifah gathered all the Scholars of the city and the messenger climbed a high Platform and said:

" I have come with three questions. If you answer them, then I will leave with you a great AMOUNT OF WEALTH which I brought from Rome."
As for the questions THEY! WERE:

" WHAT WAS THERE BEFORE ALLAH?

IN WHICH DIRECTION DOES ALLAH FACE?

WHAT IS ALLAH ENGADED IN AT THIS MOMENT?"

The Great assembly of people remains SILENT! (Can you think of answers to these

Questions?) In the minds of these brilliant Scholars and Students of Islam, there was a man looking on with his SON.

“O my Dear Father! I will answer him and SILENCE him!" said the youth. So the boy sought the permission of the Khalifah to answer the questions and was granted.

The Roman addressed the young Muslim and repeated his first question:

" What was there before Allah?" The boy now asked, “Do you know how to
count?" "Yes" said the Roman.

"Then count down from Ten!" said the boy.
The Roman started, "Ten, Nine, Eight...." until he reached One and he stopped.” But what comes before One?" said the boy. "There is nothing before one. That is
it!" the Roman replied.
" Well then, if there obviously is nothing before the arithmetic 'One', HOW DO YOU EXPECT THAT THERE SHOULD BE ANYTHING BEFORE THE 'ONE' WHO IS ABSOLUTE TRUTH, ALL-ETERNAL, EVERLASTING, THE FIRST, THE LAST, THE MANIFEST AND THE HIDDEN?" SAID THE BOY.

Now the Roman was so surprise with this DIRECT ANSWER which he could not dispute.

So he asked: "Tell me in which Direction does Allah face?" "Bring a candle and light

it" said the boy. " And tell me in which direction is the flame facing?"

"But the flame is just a light; it spreads in each of the four directions-North, South, East and West. It does not face any one direction only." said the Roman in wonderment!

The boy cried: "Then if this physical light spreads in all of the four directions such that you cannot tell which way it faces, THEN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT OF THE NURUSSAMAWATI WAL ARD. ALLAH THE LIGHT OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH? LIGHT UPON LIGHT, ALLAH FACES ALL DIRECTIONS AT ALL TIMES."

The Roman was stupefied and astounded that here was a young child answering WHAT HE CALLED CHALLENGES in such a way that he could not argue. So
he desperately wanted to ask his final question. But before doing so, the boy said, "Wait! You are the who is asking the questions and I am the one answering them. It is only fair if you come down to me m standing and I should go up to where you are right now, so that the answers may be heard as clearly as the questions." This seemed reasonable to the Roman, so he came down to where the boy was standing, leaving the boy to go up to where he was.

The Roman repeated his final challenge, "Tell me what Allah is doing at this moment?"

The boy proudly answered: “At this moment, when Allah found upon this platform a LIAR AND MOCKER OF ISLAM, HE (ALLAH) CAUSED HIM TO DESCEND AND BROUGHT HIM LOW. AND AS FOR THE ONE WHO BELIEVED IN THE ONENESS OF ALLAH, HE RAISED HIM UP AND ESTABLISHED THE TRUTH. Every day He exercises (Universal) POWER (Surah 55 Arrahman, v. 29)."

The Roman had nothing to say except to leave and return back to his Country, DEFEATED.

Meanwhile, this young Boy grew up to be one of the Most Famous Scholars of Islam. Allah the Exalted blessed him with special Wisdom and Knowledge of the Deen (Religion).
His name was ABU HANIFAH(RAHMATULLAH I ALAIHI) MAY ALLAH HAVE MERCY ON HIM AND HE IS KNOWN TODAY AS IMAM ABU HANIFAH THE GREAT SCHOLAR OF ISLAM.

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMAD , WA ALA ALI MUHAMMAD, KAMA SALLAITA ALA IBRAHIM , WA ALA ALI IBRAHIM INNAKA HAMIDUN MAJID.

Found on the interwebs.

Why do we read Quran, even if we can’t understand a single Arabic word???? This is a beautiful story.

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.
One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur’an do?”
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.
The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.
The old man said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just aganot trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try in.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s useless!”
“So you think it is useless?” The old man said, “Look at the basket.”

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.
Son, that’s what happens when you read the Qur’an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives.”

The Holy Quran in Islam – the Comprehensive Code of Conduct for the Muslims
The holy Quran is a comprehensive scripture. It contains a pattern of complete way of life. The Muslims who strongly believe in their religion Islam believe that Islam is superior to any other religion in that it guarantees happiness in man’s life. For the Muslims Islam is a belief system with moral and practical laws that have their source firmly codified in the holy Quran.

Allah addresses Prophet Muhammad in the holy Quran concerning the comprehensiveness of His message:

“And no question do they bring to you but We reveal to you the truth and the best explanation (thereof)” Quran 25:33

Divine knowledge is a fathomless ocean but glimpses of it can be obtained by any individuals sincerely searching for the truth. When concrete questions arise by the logic of events and they answered not only for the occasion, but from a general stand-point, the teaching has a far greater chance of penetrating the human intelligence and taking shape in practical conduct. Questions answered by Allah through the revelation of the holy Quran are not limited in essence to the era of the holy Prophet but rather extended in application to the eternity and the entire humanity.

Allah also says: “…And We have sent down to you the book explaining all things, a guide, a mercy and glad tidings to Muslims.” Quran 16:89

The above two scriptural references are just examples of the numerous Quranic verses(ayah) which underscore the importance of the holy Quran as a complete and comprehensive guide to the Muslims in every day-to-day activities of their lives. The Quran contains the general principles of religious beliefs, moral virtues and a comprehensive legal system governing all aspects of human behaviors. The holy Quran, being the divine constitution of Islam, provides a comprehensive program of activities for man’s life.

Islam, being the total submission to the will of Allah should, by implication, provide very accurate and comprehensive constitution-like guidelines on what Allah commands and what He prohibits. Without a very accurate set of principles as well displayed in the holy Quran all this total submission and comprehensiveness of Islam would be meaningless.
The holy Quran therefore leaves no stone unturned in providing complete and comprehensive guidance and perfect solution to human problems. The guidelines are stated either explicitly that everybody can interpret or implicitly left for some few people like the holy Prophet Muhammad ( May Allah’s peace and blessing be on him), his companions and subsequently the Islamic scholars to interpret the Quranic dictates to the ordinary layman who cannot understand the rules and principles of Islam directly from the Quran.

A mysterious, veiled victim of male
oppression, awaiting Western liberation? A slogan-shouting terrorist? An
uneducated foreigner with whom you have little or nothing in common?
Unless your social circle includes Muslim friends and acquaintances, the
chances are that your impressions of Muslim women have largely been
formed by negative media stereotypes - images that usually have little
to do with real life, and may have been designed to attract more
viewers, sell more products, or gain support for someone's political
agenda.

How
much do you really know about Muslim women's lives or views, and why
does it matter? Well, for one thing, Muslims account for 20-25% of the
people on this planet, and Islam has become the second main religion in
Europe. But did you know that the majority of European and American
converts to Islam are women - not men? Would it surprise you to learn
that many women in the Muslim world feel sorry for Western women and
view them as being victimised? Have you ever stopped to consider why
Muslim women who immigrate to the West usually maintain their identity
and strive to pass it on to their children? A thinking person may well
ask, if Islam is as oppressive to women as some journalists would have
us believe, why aren't Muslim women running away in droves? What it is
about Islam that attracts any followers outside its heartlands?

In
this brochure we aim to look beyond sensationalistic or alarmist
stories to take a glimpse at what Islam has to offer educated women in
today's world, and understand why so many (men and) women of every race,
colour, and social class have made Islam their choice. The truth, like
real life, is beyond propaganda and stereotypes.

The Islamic view of women

First of all, women are portrayed positively in the Qur'an and the
Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). The Qur'an is the only book of
world Scripture in which women are frequently referred to alongside
men, and both are described as being friends and partners in faith. The
following verses are just a few notable examples:

The
believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they
promote the right and forbid the wrong, establish prayer, pay the
poor-due, and they obey God and His messenger. As for these, God will
have mercy on them. Surely God is Mighty, Wise. God has promised to
believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell
therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the
greatest bliss is the good pleasure of God: that is the supreme
felicity. (Qur'an 9:71-72)

Surely for men who surrender to God, and women who surrender

and men who believe and women who believe;

and men who obey and women who obey;

and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth;

and men who persevere (in righteousness)

and women who persevere;

and men who are humble and women who are humble;

and men who give alms and women who give alms;

and men who fast and women who fast;

and men who guard their modesty and women who guard

(their modesty);and men who remember Allah much and women who remember -
Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward. (Qur'an
33:35)

There
is no question in Islam of men and women being at odds with one
another, engaged in some kind of historical struggle for power. Rather,
the roles of both are complementary and essential. The Qur'an states:

O
mankind! Fear God, in
Whose (Name) you demand your rights of one another, and (be mindful of
your duty) towards the wombs that bore you. God is ever Watching over
you. (Qur'an 4:1)

Do
not long for the favours by which God has made some of you excel
others. Men shall have a share of what they have earned, and women shall
have a share of what they have earned. (Do not envy each other) but ask
God to give you of His bounty. God has knowledge of all things. (Qur'an
4:31-32)

The
Prophet Muhammad augmented the revelations he received with further
teachings and his wonderful personal example, which made him beloved by
family and followers alike. He forbade violence against women, and
preached against all forms of abuse of power. He warned that both men
and women would be held accountable by God for those in their care or
under their authority, and said:

Let
no Muslim man entertain any bad feeling against a Muslim woman. While Muslim sons were being taught that Paradise lay at their
mothers' feet, women in Confucian China were told to obey their fathers,
then their husbands, and finally their sons after their husbands'
death. Hindu women were declared to be unfit for independence,
inherently weak, easily misled, sinful and unintelligent. In Buddhism,
women were said to be the personification of evil. At the time, Jews and
Christians believed women to be responsible for the downfall of the
human race, and considered menstruation and childbirth to be the
consequences of a Divine curse. One thousand years after Muhammad, in
1586, French Catholics were still debating whether or not women
possessed souls! English Christians burned millions of women alive on
the mere suspicion that they were witches. Married women in Europe did
not gain the right to own property, obtain a divorce or enter into their
own contracts until the 19th century. Not surprisingly, women who found
such teachings unreasonable rebelled against them and fought for better
treatment. Whereas other women have often had to pit themselves against
the authority of a male priesthood, in Islam the dynamics of social
change have been quite different.

Muhammad was greatly concerned with women's rights

The Prophet Muhammad was an extremely successful social reformer as well
as spiritual and political leader, who championed the rights of the
weak and oppressed. The Qur'anic verses referring to women had the
effect of vastly improving the status and rights of women at the time
they were revealed. Muslim women were granted the right to own, inherit
and dispose of their own property as they saw fit; reject forced
marriages; keep their own names and identities after marriage; initiate
divorce; and obtain an education - back in the 7th century. In contrast
to the dismal situation affecting many women in developing countries
today, early Muslim women were noted for their learning and
accomplishments. The Prophet declared, 'To seek knowledge is an
obligation on every Muslim, male and female,' and his own wife Aisha was
responsible for transmitting thousands of his sayings to later
generations. Aisha was also renowned for her knowledge of poetry,
medicine, and Islamic law, as well as her personal qualities of
character and intelligence. When she led a battle after the Prophet's
death, no one objected on the grounds that she was a woman. Many Muslim
women in the medieval period enjoyed positions of respect as scholars
and religious authorities. Therefore, Muslims seeking to improve the
position of women in society have usually focused their efforts on
getting men (and women) to practice Islam, rather than trying to
'reform' it, as happened with other religions. The main obstacles to
Muslim women achieving the rights guaranteed to them, then and now, have
been persistent un-Islamic cultural traditions (usually dating to the
period before people accepted Islam in a given locality), inadequate
religious education, and the bad side of human nature.

Women's roles, rights and obligations

Spiritual status

As shown in the Qur'anic verses above, women are considered to be the
spiritual equals of men, and they have the same religious duties. This
is all the more important when we consider that the main goal of a
Muslim is to serve God, and that this world is regarded as no more than a
testing-grounds to prepare oneself for eternal life after death.
Therefore, worldly accomplishments, fame, wealth and power simply do not
have the same attraction for a Muslim, whose main focus is on the Next
World. The Qur'an repeatedly draws our attention to the fact that the
time we spend in this world is short and unpredictable, and what really
counts is our character, how we treat others, and what we do with the
blessings God has given us. In this context, home and family are of
paramount importance, since stable families are essential to the rearing
of well-adjusted children who will transmit their faith and values to
the next generation. According to a well-known Arab proverb, 'The mother
is a school.'

Social roles

Islam supports the traditional division of labour whereby women assume
the main responsibility for home while men are responsible for their
financial support, but with an important difference: motherhood and
homemaking, like a Muslim's inner life, are not considered to be less
important or rewarding than a professional career. Indeed, motherhood is
one of the most important professions, and competent mothers who can
successfully run a warm and welcoming home, and raise a family of happy,
confident and well-disciplined children are becoming increasingly
harder to find. Muslim wives and mothers are granted the respect due to
all women for the struggles and sacrifices they make for the sake of
their families. Furthermore, Muslims consider it unfair to burden women
with both the physical and emotional demands of motherhood and the
professional demands of the workplace, which end up exhausting so many
women and destroying family life for the sake of economic gain. Muslims
often express sympathy for women in the West, who often suffer from
sexual exploitation and abuse at home and in the workplace, while being
unappreciated in their traditional roles. Western women who seek to be
respected must often dress and behave like men, and are expected in
practise to neglect their children's needs for the sake of their
careers. In Islam, femininity is appreciated, and Muslim women may seek a
higher education, work outside the home or volunteer their services to
benefit the community as long as their primary responsibilities are
taken care of. Any money that a Muslim woman earns is her own, to spend
as she likes; men remain solely responsible for maintaining the family.

Islamic marriage

Although Muslim parents traditionally play an important role in
arranging introductions and helping to choose marriage partners for
their children, both husband and wife must freely agree to the marriage.
The Prophet granted girls who had been forced into marriages against
their will the right to have their marriages annulled.

The relationship between husband and wife in Islam is an interdependent one, based on love and tranquillity. Major family decision-making should be through consultation
and discussion. As the provider, the husband is expected to take the
lead, as he is accountable to God for his care of the family. If no
agreement can be reached, the wife should be supportive as long as her
husband does not ask her to do anything that contravenes religious law.
This works well as long as each spouse behaves maturely and treats the
other with respect, kindness and consideration.

Codes of behaviour for women and men

In order to safeguard the moral integrity of family and society, Muslim
men and women are expected to observe certain guidelines of behaviour
that Westerners may find restrictive. Both sexes are expected to dress
modestly in loose, non-transparent clothing and avoid situations that
would put them alone with members of the opposite sex, or lead to
temptation or misunderstandings. Muslim women additionally cover their
hair, since women are ordinarily considered to be the more attractive of
the sexes. These restrictions are not observed at home among close
family members, but serve to protect women's honour in public and draw
attention to their personal qualities rather than their looks. In Islam,
the sexual urge is considered to be natural and desirable as long as it
is confined to expression within marriage. However, Muslims are
saddened by the rise in the vulgar exploitation of women and the human
body for marketing purposes and pornography, which inevitably result in a
cheapening of sexuality and the undermining of family and spiritual
life.

Islam's appeal to today's woman

For women who enjoy being women and appreciate the differences (as well
as the common ground) between the sexes, who would prefer to be
respected for their intelligence and character rather than being chased
after for their looks, and who would like to pursue personal and
spiritual fulfilment at a human pace without having to neglect their
families, Islam is a very appealing alternative.

A few words about polygamy…

Many people are aware that Muslim men are permitted to marry more than
one wife. What is not generally known is that strict conditions of equal
treatment in terms of time and money are imposed on men who do, or that
women may stipulate in their marriage contracts that they have the
right to divorce if their husbands take another wife. In reality,
monogamy is the norm and polygamy the exception; it has never been
common among Muslims except in areas where it was already practised, and
it is seldom successful unless the first wife agrees. Islam did not
introduce polygamy; in reality, some form of polygamy - whether with
legal marriages, mistresses, prostitution or extra-marital affairs -
occurs in every society. Rather, it allowed and regulated it in order to
protect the women and children who might otherwise be taken advantage
of. In certain cases, such as when the first wife is chronically (or
mentally) ill or unable to bear children; when there are many widows and
orphans due to war; or when a marriage has effectively broken down but
the wife would prefer to remain married; open and legalised polygamy can
be a workable second-best solution.

The
Prophet Muhammad was married to his first wife, Khadijah, for 25 years,
and he did not take other wives until after her death. Mahimi's reputation grew after the sultan of Gujarat, Ahmed Shah of the Muzaffarid dynasty, chose him to be the town's Qazi (the head Muslim cleric of a town). Mahimi was the first Indian scholar to have written an exegesis on the Qur'an, which gained critical acclimation from numerous Islamic scholars including Shah Waliullah. Authoring a total of nineteen books, he was given the moniker Qutbe Kokan (Kokans polestar). Mahimi is revered by both the Muslims and Hindus. Muslim sects such as the sunnis, shias and the barelvis hold him in high esteem. After his death in 1431, he was buried in Mahim itself. One wonder why people hesitate very much to pay due respect to these great personality, spiritually perfect and enlightened ones------the Saints, who have been laid to rest after their last breath on earth. Such people had a strong feeling that to visit the shrine of a Saint tantamount of a sin of "Shirk". </span>

<span>According to their belief, these Prophet & Saints who have been laid to the rest has gone forever and nothing can be achieved from them. Even their bodies have been eaten up leaving no trace behind the grave. Further they have in their minds as to why should they seek any assistance or fulfillment of their desires from them or from any one else even they have enough of faith on Allah who the giver of Raizaq (food), cure (shifa), IIlm ( knowledge). No one can deny their on Allah of getting all the things from Him, but do they all the things from Allah. If not, then why not? Few example and conversation will convince them for change in their approach. To visit the Aulia's (saints) to go to their Mazar (Dargah, Tomb, Shrines), or to kiss their hand, feet's, or their "Chaddar" covering place on their Mazar or even to their request them for grant of wishes (Murad) or to seek their help to solve the problems does amount to Shirk or Bidat. Remember that Saints are alive and alert and have innumerable powers bestowed to them to them by the Grace of Allah even though laid to rest. Similarly, It have been proved I our other articles " The prove of Aulia (Saints)". Here is saying of Hazrat Umar (r.a.u.) is worth quotation. Addressing the "Hajra e Aswad", He said "O! Hajra e Aswad", I know thy worth is no more than a piece of stone but since the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) kissed thee it becomes binding on me to follow in his foot "steps". People don’t kiss Novels and story books, through they are made of same material.</span>

<span>Now refer D&E) Hands, feet, faces are apparently noting but bones covered by flesh, skin and hairs, but to a kisser it has a different meaning he respect and loves those part of the body of beloved persons.</span>

<span>Now refer F) Apparently, Trophies are made of metals and materials and have some monetary value, but to winner of the reward it becomes priceless article. It is thus proved beyond doubt that such kisses do not fall in the category of Shirk or Bidah in any manner.</span>

<span>Likewise, kissing of feet or hand, Chaddar of Holy Saints the friends of Allah, to whom all the reverence is due, does not tantamount to Shirk or Bidat from any arguable angle Regarding request, appeal, Wishes, or desires to be granted by Saints also cannot be rightly termed as "Shirk or Bidat" for the very reason that people do request their friends relatives, parents, their bosses, government official and higher up pleading for help. Do the convinced persons not file Mercy Petition to the Head of the State to save their lives? Though the life and death is in hands of Allah? Do not the children, even the grown ups request or demand that religion so rigid that at every step they issue fatwas, especially ruling about "Shirk or Bidat". May Allah guide and make them realistic and sensible in their approach particularly in the manner of faith.</span>

<span>Allah is the prime source, the acts of Aulia-the enlightened Saints, are nothing the attribute of Allah channeled through them. </span>

<span>Article authored by: Balkha Farooq Taji</span><span> </span>

Badi Zaman Abul Izz Jazari, the most
renowned Muslim Mechanics scientist made the water timer. Four medical encyclopedias have been
authored during the Islamic civilization containing new points that had not
been discussed earlier.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) came with the mission of Islam for one single purpose, viz. the salvation of mankind. This purpose was the guiding factor the forgiveness which was granted to the Mushrikeen on the day of the Conquest of Makkah.

Inspite of the oppression, persecution and torture which the Mushrikeen of Makkah had perpetrated on the Muslims for 13 years, everything was forgiven and forgotten when Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and his noble Sahaabah entered Makkah as victors. There was no vengeance, no molestation and no acrimony. There was no need to establish any truth commission or put anyone on trial for the horrendous atrocities which had been committed against the Muslims in the past.

Islam came for the everlasting salvation of mankind, hence its Message is directed to all human beings. It is this overriding objective of Islam which precluded the commission of acts of revenge when Makkah was conquered.

Thus the Jihad of Islam is to open up the path for the propagation of the Message of Salvation. Its aim is not to destroy humankind. The example of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Sahaabah is adequate for the true Believers.

While it is of the imperative acts of non-Muslim conquerors to unleash horror and terror, rape and plunder on the vanquished foe, Islam follows an opposite direction. When the enemy is conquered and defeated in the battlefield, there is no wanton pillage and killing.

Muslims who indulge in such misdeeds are not ambassadors of Islam nor do they have an understanding of the goals and purpose of Islam. Islam can be presented to the kuffaar only by the presentation of the example and character of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and his Sahaabah. This was the original method of Tableegh and Da’wah. Large scale conversion to Islam in the conquered territories was a direct effect of the sterling character of the Sahaabah.

INDISCRIMINATE KILLINGS

Islam has come for the everlasting salavation of humankind—not merely for worldly success and safety. The true life is the existence in the Hereafter. Without Islam, this goal cannever be attained. Entire mankind is the target of Islam’s mission of Da’wat and Tableegh.

All people are the makhlooq (creation) of Allah Ta’ala, and the message of the Qur’aan has been dispatched to earth for everyone’s benefit. But Islam cannot be presented to all people if they are alienated by atrocities which are unleashed in the name of Islam.

Indiscriminate killing of people in the name of Islam or Jihad is not advocated by the Shariah. Those who indulge in indiscriminate killing of Allah’s makhlooq are bereft of Imaani understanding and the maqsad [purpose] of Rasulullah’s mission.

While indiscriminate killing of people, including women and children, torture, rape, pillage and plunder are the usual acts of horror of the kuffaar, the followers of Islam are not allowed to emulate such tactics.

The torture in the prisons of Iraq, in Guantanamo Bay, in the prisons of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Russia and elsewhere are acts which are exclusive with those who have no true belief in Allah and the Aakhirah. If Muslims succeed in conquering these debaucherers, torturers, sadists and sub-human specimens of mankind, it will not be permissible to recipocrate with brutality as is the practice of the kuffaar.

Islam is an extremely lofty and celestial system of life. It has no room for the ways and tactics of kufr which are all spawned by shaitaan. All systems of Islam are divine. The demarcations of these lofty systems are clearly defined by the Shariah. Muslims are not permitted to transgress the limits of the Shariah regardless of the harm and hurt they had suffered at the hands of the savages and barbarians.

BARBARISM

It is the obligation of a conquering Muslim nation to eliminate the barabarism of the barbarians. The aim is not to eliminate the barbarians. The barbarians have to be transformed into human beings so that their everlasting salvation in the Aakhirah is assured. That was what Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had achieved. No nation had ever succeeded in transforming barbarians into human beings. This was the distinction of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Muslim May Not Reciprocate with Barbarity

In the Qur’aan Majeed Allah Ta’ala states:

"Do not let hatred for a community induce you to transgress (the limits) because they (the mushrikeen) had prevented you from Musjidul Haraam."(Surah Maaidah, aayat 2)

The Sahaabah were extremely annoyed and agitated when the Mushrikeen of Makkah had prevented them from performing Umrah in the year 6 A.H. The terms of the peace treaty of Hudaibiyyah were absolutely humiliating for the Muslims.

Besides this episode, there were several other incidents which had augmented the hatred for the Mushrikeen. Some Sahaabah were contemplating revenge. It was on this occasion that the aforementioned Qur’aanic verse was revealed.

THE LIMITS

In this aayat Allah Ta’ala forbids vengeance. He prohibits Muslims from compensating persecution with persecution, torture with torture, injustice with injustice. The aayat states with great clarity that Muslims should not allow their hatred for any community to cause them to transgress the limits of the Shariah.

Those who had persecuted and tortured Muslims were forgiven and accepted within the fold of Islam. Islam had come for their salvation in the Aakhirah. Their past misdeeds were not set up as a barrier for their entry into the fold of Islam. Islam does not propagate the concept of truth commissions and similar institutions. It acts in the best interests of mankind. There is nothing better for people than their everlasting salvation in the Hereafter.

JUSTICE

Islam is a Deen of justice and compassion. Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Shafi (rahmatullah alayh) states in his Maaariful Qur’aan:

"The Qur’aan Kareem teaches fairplay and justice for both friend and foe. All are equal in this respect. Regardless of how brutal your enemy was and how much he had persecuted you, it is your obligation to treat him with justice. Islam is unique in this. This is the speciality of Islam. It safeguards the rights of even enemies. Islam does not compensate injustice with injustice. It responds with justice."

taken From the site of : http://www.tauheed-sunnat.com

After recitation the Koranic verses:
من يطع الرسول فقد أطاع الله" ", (if a person obeys the messenger surely
he has obeyed Allah almighty) and "قل إن كنتم تحبون الله فاتبعوني يحببكم
الله" (say to them! Oh people if you want to love Allah almighty so you
must obey me, Allah almighty would love you); the Imam and Khateeb of
Makki masjid for Sunni community in Zahidan respected Shaikh Abdul
Hameed talked about the significance of sunnat and explained well how
the following of prophet’s way is important; as Allah almighty said that
following the holy prophet (PBUH) is equal to follow Him, exactly to
disobey the prophet(PBUH) is equal to disobey Allah, in the same way as
there is guidance in the holy Quran for mankind, there is guidance in
the sunnat of holy prophet (PBUH) too; because the instructions
mentioned in Ahadeeth have been taken from the way where the holy Quran
has been come from, it means both the fountains are connected to Allah
almighty, we can say the holy Quran is book where the basic and major
principles have been mentioned in, rather the sunnat of holy prophet
(PBUH) explains such principles.

"It is not possible to understand the
Qur'an completely and practice its commands without following the sunnah
of the prophet of Allah. Islam is a complete religion only with the
Qur'an and the Sunnah. At that times when the Qur'an was revealed, the
people around the prophet learned and practiced the commands of Islam as
required by looking at the examples of the prophet. Indeed, the prophet
has been an important example with his life, where he practiced the
commands of the religion, for us to understand the Qur'an," he added.
The
grand Sunni scholar explained some examples and said, "We can give
"Salah" (ritual prayers) as a clear example to understanding the
commands of the religion. As well known, in Islam, performing salat five
times a day is an obligation and there are some verses just order us to
perform it, how to perform ablution. However, we can understand how
exactly we should perform prayers only by looking at Sunnah; because
there is no detailed information in the verses about the way of praying,
what to say in prayer, the way of man and woman's performing the
prayer, the degree of importance of the prayers, the details of
ablution, and what nullifies ablution. We can learn such details only by
looking at Sunnah of the prophet peace be upon him."
"As another
example, we can mention the suggestions of the prophet about Friday and
the things he said about Friday prayer. Beside the subjects such as
speaking that which is best, cleanness, foods, modesty, there are verses
in the Qur'an about obligations such as fasting, ablution and hajj
(pilgrimage). However, there is no detailed information about those
worships in the verses of Qur'an. We learn the detailed information
about how to perform these worships from the interpretations of the
scholars about the words and habits of the prophet Muhammad PBUH,"
Shaikh more added.
Respected Shaikh Abdul Hameed further said that
certainly the life of the holy prophet (PBUH), his sayings and his
actions are exactly explanation of holy Quran, as Zakat is mentioned in
the greatest book of Allah almighty but there is no detail of giving
Zakat, which quantity money is necessary for it? How many kinds of Zakat
are there in goods, agriculture and wealth? Thus it is impossible to
neglect the importance of Sunnah of holy prophet (PBUH).
Shaikh
explained the importance of Hadeeth more and said that undoubtedly the
holy Quran is very understandable, it is very solid when it talks about
ideologies (Aqa'ed), the morals and ethics clearly, but the Islamic
orders (Ahka'm) are not clear hundred percent, it is only Hadeeth which
explains the commands of Allah almighty, so the Sunnah of prophet is the
basic need of us, without Sunnah none can understand the holy Quran.

The concept of obeying the messenger

"The
point one needs to pay attention in the verses is that they emphasize
on the concept of "obeying the Messenger". This point shows us that
following the Messenger, in other words following his commands and rules
is a worship that Allah brought as an obligation. When we look at the
verses, we again see that our prophet has the authority to enjoin and
forbid things. For example, the verse "ماآتاكم الرسول فخذوه وما نهاكم
عنه فانتهوا" ".... (and whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and
from whatever he forbids you, keep back, and be careful of (your duty
to) Allah.); shows that the prophet may forbid certain things for his
ummah, a part from those things that are forbidden in the Qur'an.
Besides, it is again informed in the verses that the believers took the
matters that they did not understand to the prophet and the prophet
judged for them," Mawlana Abdul Hameed pointed.
Respected Shaikh
mentioned the qualities of the followers of Sunnah that holy prophet
(PBUH) him self emphasized to copy his Sunna completely, rather some
times Sunnah gets the state of wajoob (obligatory), some times it is
considered very important like “Miswak”(chewing stick) it is Sunnat but
holy prophet (PBUH) says: "لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك". (Were
it not to be a hardship on my community, I would have ordered them to
use Siwak for every ablution), in the same way holy prophet (PBUH)
mentioned the benefits of Siwak, the messenger of Allah says: “ Siwak
purifies the mouth and pleases Allah, thus some times the rewards of
prayer are doubled by having Siwak, as the last messenger says: "صَلاَةٌ
بِسِوَاكٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ صَلاَةً بِغَيْرِ سِوَاكٍ (the prayer
with Siwak is better then the seventy prayers without Siwak).
Shaikh
Abdul Hameed added more that cleaning is the man's right, none can do it
against the rule of Shariah. As well as holy prophet (PBUH) says:
"المتمسك بسنتي عند فساد أمتي له أجر شهيد (a person who takes my Sunnah
strongly at the time of not having well of my Umma he will get the
rewards of Shaheed (the one who was killed in the way of Allah).
At
end of his speech he said, "Sunnat is the easiest way to get Jannah
(paradise) that is why we should accept the Sunnah in every field of
life, because it is actually the light which we can remove darkness by."
